Currently the only way to add an internal message for particular day(s) is via settings but on a particular day with a message you can add more via the flag in corner.
Surely internal messages should be able to be added from the diary screen and can be restricted by user group, we shouldn't have to go through the whole rigmarole of going via settings every time
